If hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, what kind of fury hath a tax man
stiffed?
I don't want to find out.
Hagar did.
There's no tax on WVO (yet!) and since it's free, any tax would be zero.
In our province, the gas tax is an excise (in medical terms, that means
carving out flesh) tax, [same as booze and cigarettes] not a road tax, like
England.
So if you can power your car with what is yet an un-taxed fuel,(soft coal,
WVO, sawdust), you might be legaly exempt.
In England, you will be in jail.
But be sure, they will find a way when it becomes significant. That's why I
don't flaunt it (WVO).
I have looked at that red dyed fuel, but not gone there. An interesting
thing happened a few years ago. I loaned my A3 to a friend for a road trip
across ontario and in to the US.
He was taken aside at an MOT truck check in northern Ontario, when the
officer heard the rattle of the engine. They dipped the tank, and it came
out blue! The officer asked for an explanation. Friend showed him the
2-stroke oil bottles in the trunk, the officer waved him on. Friend was a
professional truck driver and volks diesel owner..
Tax collecting is a growth industry in Canada where we pay more than half of
what we earn to various levels of government. Those governments therefore
will spend more money collecting taxes than they will for defence, public
health care, roads, etc. because that's their golden goose.
[Rant mode off]
Sandy
