[Vwdiesel] ATF as an additive???

I agree that Marvel Mystery Oil is good stuff. I've used it for many
years in different applications. I had a Chev. Vega in College that
burned oil like an Iraqi. I would add some Marvel every tank and it
would greatly reduce the oil consumption. It is a long lasting
lubricant for applications that you might otherwise use 3-in-1 oil. As
an oil additive it is supposed to do good things as well. When it burns
it leaves a white lubricative residue. However, it does not burn well.
One can easily overwhelm a gas engine by pouring the stuff in the
carbruetor. I have tried it in diesel as an additive as well. I
noticed marked reduction in performance and white smoke (Marvel's
signature). I'm sure it would be good for the injector pump and the
valves on occasion. I wouldn't recommend using Marvel with every tank.
It has it's applications in lubrication and is great to keep around the
shop! I doubt that you could fill your pump with it and start the
engine. I've never tried it but perhaps Nando will give it a go and let
us all know!

Once again, I tell the list what I have used forever, and it does not
have
any friction modifiers. It is available anywhere and it is cheap.
Marvel
Mystery Oil. It has the consistency and color of ATF. My Audi's pump
stopped leaking with a dose of it. Honestly So! (the slogan)
