[Vwdiesel] Ford diesel hard starting

  So the story goes:  COLD winter night, had the lights on for illumination 
or left them on, batteries are a little low, crank it up to start and charge 
things up before it won't crank.  Gee, it cranks but won't start now 
because the computer figures that even though the engine cranks over 
fine, it NEEDS the alternator going to bring the voltage back up but NO!  
NO STARTING ALLOWED since that's what is NEEDED!  You must 
sit there at your ice fishing hole and freeze or at least wait until you're '
overdue to return and someone finally comes looking for you.
  I wonder who the genius is that decided that scenario would NEVER 
happen?  An engnieer telecomuting from Jamaca maybe?  Sheesh!
