[Vwdiesel] New Passat TDI's...

Hello Folks,

Well we all know that the new Passat TDI will NOT be offered for sale in
Kalifornia. I don't even think they will be 50 state emissions
certified.

Here is my scenario...
I was a longtime Kalifornia resident. Joined the military, retired in
Florida(currently a legal FL resident), and will someday soon, sell the
house here and move back to be closer to my sisters and cousins. I know
Kalifornia code says that a used car is one with >90days and/(or?)
>7500miles on it.

Is it possible to buy a new Passat TDI here in FL when they become
available, put the required time and mileage on it, and move back to
Kalifornia with the car and be able to register it there?

I know that there are people who move there with 50-state cars and
register them. Will they treat the new diesel any differently? I was
stationed in San Diego before 2002, and drove a Quantum TD that I was
never required to have smogged checked.

I've always been fuzzy with Kalifornia code. I am hoping is someone out
there who knows the real true to the matter.

Thanks in advance,

-Gary
