I believe that this engine is a shared peugeot/renault 2.2L 4 cyl. If it is
that engine, it would also be found in a peugeot 505 diesel, and that weird
renault winnebago model, which had this 2.2 in it along with a Fuego front
end. So, there's a few avenues, that is if I am correct.
I dont think it's the same engine. The Peugot seems more like a
robust, industrial engine whereas the Renault looks more like a "car"
diesel. Besides, all of them I've seen say Renault on the valve cover.
Only place I've seen them is the Winebago LeSharo, Jeep Cherokee,
and the Itasca (never have caught the model) that's the same as the
LeSharo. The motorhomes have a larger turbo than the Jeep. The
mini winni was a larger motorhome as I recall. The motorhomes have
an intercooler and at least the Jeeps have a NICE oil recovery thingy
in the breather line. :)
