I personally think it is how they have the feerback loop setup in the ecu.

  I'l throw in 2¢ worth.  Could be a "slick road" thing.  Decel too fast and 
the car might want to slip a bit.  People being "too stupid" to drive a 
car without help from a computer, wouldn't know what to do if the car 
decleerated too quickly and it started to slip!  ;-)
