Loren I have been trying to ask you for a long time --- about your dads V8 GM 5.7.

The flexplate ?    in the pump  ---how many miles before it let go ?.

I still work (fools around with) on those pumps --and to have a plastic plate break up
in a pump  --  does not look good for stanadyne.

My flexplate was trashed to pieces by the flyballs.

I have never seen a Bosch VE flexdrive come apart --so far.    On the V8 I had the same
experience as what happened to you.   Let a bit of air enter pump ------and whoopy away
she goes. Racing till air is gone.   I had to turn the key off at times. That V8 sure
picked up RPM fast.

By the way it is still the nicest running and sounding diesel of all time in my book.
And no good for nothing.
