I was trying to say that any lube with friction reducers  ----usually some variety of
metal compounsds ---  are detrimental to ring seating.

Do not use additive ---detergent -- etc for the break-in.

By 'additive oil' do you mean cheap oil that does not contain the
usual friction reducers?

No the opposite    -- additive oils make your car go forever.   Probable cheap oil would
be better.-----I use Aviation Oil and it is from good crude --not cheap.

PS: we normally do not like metal to metal contact ----but to seat rings it is GOOD.
