[Vwdiesel] Engine Break-In

I have noticed quite a bit of discussion on engines burning oil after a 
rebuild and I came across an interesting article on an unconventional 
break-in procedure that calls for running the engine hard for the first 
20 miles after the rebuild.  The author, who has rebuilt 300 bike 
engines (many for racing applications) swears by the technique.  He 
says that if you haven't got the rings seated within the first 20 miles 
they will never seal properly.  Here is a link.
