Sodium silicate will disolve in water, and then hardens upon exposure to air.
After it hardens, glycol and water can be introduced. It's kind of an
additive to fix imperfections in an installation.

You can just buy the chemical, or buy a "block sealer" additive. The additives
have particles of copper and other metals. Becauseful to follow the
instructions, which will include having NO glycol in the system when
you put water and sealant in. Then you will have to evac (and really flush
a couple of times) the system, and then leave the internals exposed
to air. Then add water and glycol.

The shop I just got a head at told be to use the stuff. I'll do it plain
first, thank you.

It just seems too much like adding a bottle of green slime tire sealant
(includes propylene glycol) everytime you get a new tire.
