Unfortunately it is using a lot of oil about 1qt. every 200 miles but it
does start well. Deep down I know the only real thing to do is re-ring when
I can. Val asked about the piston lands on the last rebuild but I don't
know. I bought the engine as a fresh rebuild knowing full well that can
mean anything but I was assured it had all new bearings, rings, valve job,
water and oil pumps but who knows. I know it was not bored and he reused
the original pistons. I was actually kidding about adding the Bon-Ami but
I remember I think Hagar saying that was a good way to really wash the
cylinders after honing/glaze breaking to leave a good scoured surface for
the rings so I just wondered how it would do as an additive to maybe
shortcut the process :)
