It was an ECO, but I have purchased a TD pump with the LDA.

Andrew
Andrew : You have to drop your gasser trousers and put on diesel pajamas.
Gassers leaned out self destruct ----diesels leaned out ? ----they love it.
A VW diesel EGT (pyrometer) gauge is nice, but not absolutely necessary to avoid damage.
The only way to damage a VW is to over-fuel over-boost and set timing of pump too
soon ---in that line of thinking. Warning signs ? smoke and coolant temp rising. And
big marbles at idle. ------GO lean man go lean. (like me).
Fueling srew located ? There are two, one on the pump , and one on LDA.
Both affect the full load stop. The screw on top of LDA sets the trigger point (PSI)
where more fuel is injected. Inside LDA is a big adjusting nut for setting volume per
stroke. BOSCH calls it a CONE adjustment ( bad translation IMHO) it is a rod
with a taper on it and a follower pin mounted 90 degrees to the rod moves the full load stop
inside pump. So yes we have one more seal to deal with.
If given a choice always buy the pump with the LDA on it --even if you do not need
it at this time.
Hagar.
