[Vwdiesel] Headliner repair, vacuum pump working

The ribs on my car are a good
1/4 - 1/2 inch from the roof at this point, so I doubt that gluing is
likely to work again.  Two questions: what have you folks done about the
ribs?  What kind of glue would y'all recommend for regluing the ceiling
insulation where it's starting to fall off.  The old stuff looks kinda
like Liquid Nails :)


  The ribs will work their way most of the way up with a bit of propping and 
pounding.  You'll need to use a ball peen hammer in the outer radii as you 
push up.  I was able to get one withing almost 1/8" the other still less than 

1/4".  A couple of 2 X 4's and some wedges and viola!  You just need the 
correct glue.  There IS a correct glue for the metal to metal and Liquid 
Nails isn't it.  It works for a couple weeks but that's it.  There's likely a 

"correct" glue for the padding too.  Probably a spray on contact adhesive.
It has to withstand quite a bit of heat and many glues get really brittle 
from extended heat.

  Did your roof get little puckers from the sagging cross braces?  Mine did 
as well as a couple others I checked over.
