  I just fixed a similar problem.  No spring sound in the MC but little rear 
brakes and next to no RR brake.  New MC a while back, one-man bleed, 
new rear shoes, old ones were at the limit and still not reaching the drum.
Worse than ever.  I finally got my wife to help me bleed the brakes and 
it took almost 15 minutes just for the RR.  No flow.  Got a few hard shots 
through it and it started to pick up flow and got all the air out.  IMO 
you're 
going to have problems with the A2 brakes without a two-man bleed.  It 
just seems to hang up in there somewhere.  
  The spring sound likely is the booster being compressed more than it's 
used to.
