[Vwdiesel] Storing injection pump

In Seattle, there is a outfit that repairs the Bosh pumps.  I spoke
with a guy there who said that a pump can be stored for a year or so,
and usually not have any problems, if it if filled with clean diesel.

A long time ago, it was suggested to me that a pump that was to be
stored for a long time could be filled with the special fluid that is
used for testing injectors.  This fluid is more stable over time then
diesel fuel and does not degrade into stuff that will leave deposits.
You can obtain this fluid at your local injector shop.
