  Subject: [Vwdiesel] Head rebuild questions

I have talked to two recommended shops about rebuilding my 1.6TD head,
and both have quoted me around $200 CDN for a valve grind, and installing
new guides and seals (parts not included). Is there anything else I'm
missing? Do these places normally flush the head out after the valve grind to
remove any crud? I assume they must...

I have used fine steel wool to remove the silicone from the top sealing
surface of the head, and there are now some steel particles in the head. I'm
wondering if I should try to flush it how somehow, or just let the shop do it. I'm
hesitant to apply water to a head with valves still installed in case I get rust
starting, and I don't have anything else to flush it with.
