Hi, when my rear press. reg went, pulling up on the hand brake part way while driving 
made a noticeable difference in stopping power, and reduced the amout of pedal travel. 
Even when this happened I still had reasonable boost though.

Could be your vac booster is shot then... this sounds like the most likely I think.--
