Hope you will share your knowledge gained as a mechanic. (I never was one)
Some of us live way out in the toolies , no stealerships and so on.

This forum here , made it possible for me to do everything to be done on the 
Rabbits I own.   As to mileage on my 1984 Turbo 1.6L  Rabbit ---WOW --
astronomical right now. I have the fueling set right down to minimum .

Hope you are experienced , this is mainly a DIY forum ---and mechanics
do not need to be here.  We need a couple to keep us honest. 
It would be even better if you were a diesel type.    California diesel fuel ?
beware of quality ---so use lots of lube for pump and injectors.
The mileage has a lot to do with how you set the pump  i.e. for Power
or for no smoke.
