Ok Ferguson you asked. :

When I first got the 1984 Rabbit Turbo 1.6L  five on the floor.(7A)  ---  nice to look at light
metallic blue  ---  but a bondoqeen .

It was so wild that I had troubles driving it ---man what power , man what
smoke. As the turbo spooled up it was like hitting an afterburner.

Now ? she starts good and purrs like a kitten.  and NO smoke.

First thing I did was to pull the line from Spaceship to manifold. (still off)
Then I changed nozzles and did a Hillbilly tune-up job.  Reducing fueling
to a point of absolutely minimum.

One more thing I use 50 PSI in front tires and 40 rear.

80 MPH ?  in this configuration ?  I doubt it.But I carry the wrenches and to
increase fueling takes a couple of minutes , on the side of the road.
80 Km/h is maximum here. But I do 100 quite often.

Next nice day I shall take a bottle and measure mileage exactly and let
you know..  Your mileage sounds pretty good to me.
