i always used to think that straight antifreeze would
give the best protection as well, but since it very
rarely gets very cold here (western oregon) i never
did that. i was surprised to see right on the
container one time that the max recommended mix is
something like 70% antifreeze 30% water.

guess i just lucked out! :)
