I like to give my rear wheels a grab any time I have them off the ground.  Release the parking brake and grab ahold on opposite sides and give it a tug, if you feel any play or looseness, pop off the wheel and give the retaining nut a little nudge until
you can get the cotter pin back in at the next slot that lines up.  I find mine get worked loose if I drive a lot of rough and gravel roads.
