[Vwdiesel] Outer CV Joint Binding

I just figured out that this new joint has different
dimensions from the original one, and that this causes the joint to
bind with the circlip that retains the wheel bearing. 


No  that is not THE problem . There is ample clearance for the new one.

It is a non VW circlip or it is not seated properly or the tab's are bent inwards.

Measure from the groove the clip ears should protrude about 0.2 inches (about)  max.
