Sometimes on a rebuild (especially if the case was tanked), the oil gallery 
plugs will leak.  The air-cooled is notorious for this.  It's fooled me, and 
made me think it was the flywheel seal.  A little leak is no big deal, but if 
one of the plugs pops out (which they do on occaision-especially after rebuild 
when oil pressure is high) Then it can be a very expensive disaster.
