[Vwdiesel] 2 year old engine oil?

I picked up a $59 engine stand in preparation for pulling the engine from my 
old Jetta TD. The engine runs ok, but hasn't been driven for well over a year, 
and is close to two years since the last oil change. I plan on tearing down the 
engine and doing a complete rebuild, but I won't probably won't get around to 
it until the fall/winter. Is there any point in dumping the oil, and putting in 4L of 
cheap diesel oil, then running it up to temp? I'm thinking this might help fend 
off any corrosion from the nasty oil that is in there... or should I not bother?
