It's inside the clutch. The clutch pedal runs a cable, lever, TO bearing,
pushrod, which pushes on a push plate which pushes the fingers on the
pressure plate to release pressure on the disk. Where the pushord pushes
on the push plate is a hardened nubbin. These get loose and can even
fall out. The end of the pushrod is hardened as well.
You could pull the end off the tranny, pull out the throw out bearing
and pull the pushrod. If the inner end is less than spherical then you
likely have a problem. That's the only way I can think of to check it
without
pulling the tranny.
