[Vwdiesel] Oil leak from thread?

Thanks for the suggestions thus far everyone! I was afraid to try and
tap the hole for fear of getting shavings in the internals. Plug up the
oil screen or something worse. Roger sez grease will catch the
shavings. Sounds reasonable to me! Pipe fittings for the tapered
thread makes sense too! JB Weld would be kinda limiting as Sandy
acknowledges.

The Miser sez hemp twine and pipe dope. I'm glad we are talking diesels
here!
Don't you think that pipe (dope) sealer would give it up to the heat and
oil?
Val mentions helicoil or pipe fitting...
A quick fix would be nice but... I'm leaning toward the re-thread and a
brass pipe fitting. I'm thinking a pipe fitting would need to be tapped
to accept the pressure switch. You all are the best! I sure do like
and appreciate this link!

Anyone tried good ol' plumbers hemp twine and pipe
sealer...This modern teflon tape or twine is a swine...
