[Vwdiesel] 1.6L cold start-idle speed?

That lever does not affect idle speed, it affects timing only.

I don't even notice ANY difference from the knob on my car except it 
starts easier and smokes a LOT less on cold starts with the knob out.

There may be a very slight difference in "diesel-noise" too (smoother 
with the knob in when even slightly warm, smoother with the knob out 
when cold) but that might be just my imagination.
