IMHO any injector body and or nozzle will work just fine. If you adjust
breaking pressure .
1977 to 1984 turbo or NA no problemo. 1.5 L NA here has a SHORT spring
1.6 NA or turbo has a LONG spring I shall post lenght later.
Do not mix up the two types as far as parts are conserned. In the engine ?
no problemo. All it is --- is a poppet valve. Engines do not care.
The barrels I have are marked 130 bar NA and 1 xx for the turbo ( a bit higher)(155bar?)
The BOSCH injector used in Rabbits is one fine design and quality steel.
A real simple and fun to refurbish. injector IMHO.
Pump valves are check valves ---and will work with turbo or NA IMHO.
NO 20 year old Rabbit in British Columbia runs better starts better gives better mileage
than Bunny Bondo ---- 78 miles on a gallon Imp and smooth. She is a darling.
1984 Rabbit 1.6 L Turbo using 1.5L NA Nozzles. I was going to sell the engine to
Shawn Wright for 600 dollars Can. I did NOT want a turbo. (now I do)
A turbo that works for 20 years ? (Garrett) with no maintenance ? NOW to me
that is impressive. 300 000 Km app (good old yankee know how?)
My nozzles came from BOW-WOW about 15 dollars each. Can.
Like Loren told me long time ago get NEW nozzles and believe me he knew what
he was talking about -------- about 140 dollars for two Rabbits worth every
penny. --or haypenny for Mark Shepherd and the UK gang.
Hagar..
PS : So how much credit goes to Loren and this site ? a lot a big lot .
thank you fellas you know who you are. Smarts and information goes a long way.
Why is the Rabbit so dear to me ? the pump DA pump it is like
a Rubiks qube ---master it and you have a happy Rabbit.
Did I do the CUBE ? yes took me about 3 month. Remember solving and
putting in order is two different things. Those TV kids ? did NOT solve it.
