  Is that a constant figure or once or twice?
  My Rabbit beat 55mpg once, before I overhauled it even, with my wife 
driving.  She got about 52 once too.  I used to get 40 to 45 depending 
and since I worked it over I've been able to get as low as upper 30's 
and usually in the lower to mid 40's.  I drive it HARD though so it 
could do much better I'm sure.  I just have too much fun to try and make 
the better mileage.
