[Vwdiesel] Project Bondo Golfy-fuel mileage 1.6L NA Golf??

Well, I can't post pix (attachements) to the list...for those that
asked....It just looks like a regular car with 1 Liter of bondo spread
around and sanded. Mostly on the
edges of the fenders and bottoms of doors. A little by the bottom of the
windows, front, drivers side and passengers side. Otherwise, you'd never
know it was rotten.
I have yet to do a final sanding and primer/spot paint yet. If I end up
keeping it, I may do a proper body job and full respray next summer, but who
knows.

My old 88 Jetta 1.6L Turbo diesel (w/ 394k, rebuilt @ 300k) got me 49MPG
imperial hwy/city every time. I never did feel the turbo increased HP or
Torque at all, even though I had boost guages in line and a remote solenoid
to turn off the small pressue line to the spaceship and everything.

I am hoping (praying is more like it...ha ha) there won't be too many
repairs needed to get this car roadworthy and that I could get mid 40's MPG
I would be happy.

This has been a NB car all its life and we layer the roads in salt here. Its
unreal. (we do get a LOT of snow) There are virtually NO 1980's cars on the
roads here AT ALL and you'd be lucky to find anything pre 93/94 as they are
all rotted away. For 1999/2000 cars to show rust here is quite common.
