[Vwdiesel] which wire goes to positive terminal on alternator??

Hi,

I have an 81 jetta with the plug style alternator.  I am trying to get all 
the wires back where they go but I can't figure out which wire is supposed to go 
to the positive terminal.   There is a wire that comes off the top of the 
fuel pump solenoid that would reach and there is also one that reaches coming 
from the big coolant sensor on the side of the head but I don't know if that wire 
makes sense to go there???

Any help would be great I almost have my turbo project done...
