I have an 81 jetta with the plug style alternator. I am trying to get all
the wires back where they go but I can't figure out which wire is supposed
to go
to the positive terminal. There is a wire that comes off the top of the
fuel pump solenoid that would reach and there is also one that reaches
coming
from the big coolant sensor on the side of the head but I don't know if that
wire
makes sense to go there???
Any help would be great I almost have my turbo project done...
____
Coolant sensor is to cut out the A/C pump if the engine gets hot methinks.
Solenoid should have it's own power source, independant of the alt circuit,
or the engine won't shut off.(keeps getting power from the alternator when
key is shut off).
Big wire(s) go to the + terminal that wend their way to the starter solenoid
and eventually battery +.
You going from a motorola to a bosch alternator?
