For years it was a gallon jug of gas on a shelf and an empty 4lb canned
ham can with a parts brush that someone had used against something they'd
recently welded. When I got to high school I made about a 2' cube tank on
legs with a two position tray. Tried making a pump from an old hand mixer
and V-8 oil pump but those pumps spew around the shaft and I didn't want
to take time to make it work in-tank. Cheapskate orchard finally sprung
for an acutal solvent tank on a 35 gallon barrel type. A friend had gotten
one
just before that and for maintaining it and doing some mechanic work for
him, it was same as mine to use as well
Once you have a pump type solvent tank you'll kick yourself for
procrastinating so long! Just be sure you suspend the pump a few inches
from the bottom, use a 5 gallon bucket instead of the barrel if possible, and
put about a half to a gallon of water in it. It helps seperate the stuff
once
it settles and keeps your solvent cleaner longer. :)
