Hi
Dont use the timing slot as a holding system beyond intial
'nipping up' I think someone has experienced breaking of
this slot.. or at the very least has discovered this from a
PO. !!!!
Rig up a tool t ohold the pulley such as a straight bar with
a pivoting piece bolted to it to form a kind of 'y' shape.
The top two ends drilled and bolts inserted so that they can
insert into the pulley whilst it has its final torqueing to
hold it still. The importance of mating of the pulley to the
tapered cam end is of ultra importance. No oil on the
surface.. Bon Ami or I've used VIM and then wiped it off
again. Even without a torque meter you can get a good finish
with a long wrench (ring spanner) and tighten by tapping the
wrench with a mallet and noteing the 10 degrees or so of
swing of the wrench....
