Brake problems on the Jetta. Fuel injection pump on the TDI. UGH! The
Jetta brakes are hit and miss. I've noticed that they work pretty good if
I'm driving down the road and only hit the pedal once. If I pump the pedal,
it gets stiff. Also if I'm idling for a while, like when I'm in line to
pick the kids up from school, and I move up a little and then step on the
brake, it's stiff.
So, it seems like I'm creating some vacuum, at least while driving. But not
enough to allow me to pump the brakes. And not enough when just idling.
Right now, the Jetta brakes are the least of my worries. They work well
enough to be relatively safe. My main focus will now be the TDI.
