[Vwdiesel] vanagon front brakes

This slight veering when brakeing seems like the kind of subtle enigmatic
problem that gives me whole new brakeing and sunspension systems. Had a Dodge
that did that. After changing Everything, front and rear, I found out that one
of the brake lines had a restriction in it. It wasn't enough to stop the flow
of fluid, just enough to slow it down. I was always the one at the wheel
with the wrench and my wife was the one pumping the pedal, so I never noticed the
difference in pressure on the pedal.
Here's the question. I have an '87 parts vanagon. It has the later, said to
be superior, front brakes. Is it worth the hassle to swap all the parts
over? Is it just rotors and calipers, or do I have to get into it deeper?
