Try a bit of 2-stroke oil in the fuel, half a quart wont hurt. Old fuel,
tired lubricants in fuel. New fuel. no lubricants in fuel. Sticky pump.

2 stroke is good for the pump any time, esp. with low sulphur fuel, and if
it's been laid up a long time, a pint of ATF will clean it up. But I do not
recommend ATF as a regular diet. (It's more like a laxitive, to be used only
when required) :-)
