[Vwdiesel] FOUND(??) Old Diesel-NEED advice please

  I'd be inclined to drop in a battery, check oil and water, tires, etc and 
hook up a chain and start dragging.  Check for brakes.  Probably was 
parked with the E-brake on so it should loosen up with a little rolling 
foreward and back.  Pull it and on the way put it in gear, work the clutch,
see if it'll start, etc.  When I towed my daughter's '37 chevy truck home, 
I took opportunity while pulling, to make sure the clutch was broken 
loose and the engine as well.
  I've started a couple of dead Rabbits that way.  Still blown head gaskets 
but they started!
