[Vwdiesel] (off topic) Headlight haze

Is there a fix to headlight haze?  Some headlamp fixtures with
halogen bulbs seem to "milk over" or haze up, reducing light output
and affecting the optics (obscures the real focal point).  

A glimpse of a polisher tool on a TV ad suggested that polishing 
from inside (through the lamp opening) might de-haze the fixture.

Anyone with experience or knowledge on this one?
