[Vwdiesel] Heater Core Electrolysis question

Hmmm, interesting. My owner's manual is quite clear about the
requirement for distilled water and G12 on this 2000 MY TDI. Wonder
if the mineral salts in tap water may accelerate electrolysis?
BTW, never realized *why* the rad, et al, are mounted on dielectric
(insulating) pieces. Just assumed it was for weight savings. This
thread put the subject in a new light for me. Thanks to the original
poster for the heads-up. Wouldn't have thought of it in a million
years....
