 The rotary pump TDIs have the fuel temp sensor, too. It's inside the pump
and is user-replacable if it gets killed by a bad batch of fuel. Homebrew
biodieselers found this out first, I think. Water does 'em in. You need a
special triangular bit to get into the pump, but it's easy to replace once
you're in there.
