  Very easy to set the LDA so you don't get smoke when it's operating and 
just about as easy to set the spring tension so that it's not engaging until 
5 psi.
  I drove my Dasher with no LDA and no power.  First trip and I was about 
ready to sell it.  Turned up the pump so it'd move and then I was happy!  
(Made better mileage too rather than factory fueling and a turbo.)  If I 
floored it, it'd smoke profusely since I had it set for maximum under load.  
All you had to do was control your foot and no smoke but all the power 
was available simply by pressing the throttle. 
  When I ever get the Rabbit turbofied I plan to put an LDA in place of the 
regular top of that yellow dot/107-A pump.  :-)  Best of both worlds!
