I did goldie's hed in the winter with the manifolds and turbo attached. I
have done several head gaskets on different cars and never removed the manifolds
I have a small 400 lb electric hoist attached to the garage ceiling that
makes this work so easy, cost $129+tax.
There is one caveat.... The turbo oil drain tube. I left it attached to the
turbo, and detached at the pan. When lowering the head on to the engine,
stop half an inch before touch-down, and guide the drain tube into the fitting.
It's a terrible job if left until the head is bolted down.
