[Vwdiesel] OT: Shipping windows and a bumper

Tyson,

My comments were not made for your amusement.  They are based on my true
personal experience and others I know with this company .  I even sent a
package twice to an employee of UPS in Texas who himself had trouble with
the insurance claim and could not get good service on his shipment.  The
first time it was picked up in Ontario, Canada by the UPS driver then
apparently shipped as far as the Canada/US border where it became destroyed
and misplaced.  Then it was returned to me, the sender as the destination
after never reaching it's recipient and became way overdue.

On another occasion I had purchased four new neon sign transformers from a
company in Toronto.  This company sent them to me northwest of Toronto by
UPS.  They arrived smashed and dented with the boxes ripped and mutilated as
though they had travelled in a cement mixer/tumbler truck 'en route.

A vintage TV collector aquaintance of mine in Buffalo, NY had UPS ship a
delicate furniture cabinet from a very rare, very early color TV set (RCA's
very first model) to his home from an ebay sale.  When the truck drove up in
front of his house the driver dropped the large package off the back of the
truck onto the hard pavement with a kick.

So based on MY experience here IS one for your amusement.  "Do you know that
UPS now X-rays all packages?  Yeah, they want to be absolutely sure that
they have destroyed the contents".

The company you work for has a well earned reputation for fragile stickers
being a challenge to drop harder and handle rougher  It would be great if
the bad apples that work for them could be identified and fired.  To not do
so is obviouslty a management decision.

Like it or not, well that just about covers my thoughts on shipping.
