[Vwdiesel] Water separator(?)the SAGA

It was spitting/leaking again today @ work, so what I did was used several
really long plastic cable ties (Ty-wraps I call them) to hold the cap on by
going round the unit a few times at different angles, then I used a different
shaped hose clamp on the drain tube folded-over"plug" type thing I have
rigged up.

This will (I HOPE) get me by until I can burn off the near-full tank of
diesel that's in there now.

As an aside; does anyone know if the few liters that leaked out onto my
rock/sand/crushed rock driveway will always be stained, or will it
eventually wash away with some good rain showers? It's roughly 75-80' away
from my well, and my well is down around 80' I think.......any danger?

If it's gonna be there for some time, I'll have to dig it up and dispose of
it somehow. A wee lil'
oil drip from my Austin Mini is one thing, but the diesel stain I have is
the size of a 14" round pizza.

Unless I happen upon a good used one, I think I am going to go with Sandy
Camerons' advice and bypass the whole mess with some cheap Canadian Tire
parts or similar. (Sandy; BTW, an online search at www.canadiantire.ca of
those part #'s came up empty......)
