[Vwdiesel] Alternate use for spline tool set.

Yesterday I worked on removing the clutch from my recently purchased '85
Westy vanagon (gas waterboxer). I figured while in there I should change the
flywheel oil seal, and the pilot bearing. The Flywheel is held on by five 12mm
allen head bolts. The torque spec is 81 ft. lbs with locktite. That's a lot to
expect of a 12mm allen. Trying to loosen them (lack of impact) I used a 12mm
allen socket with breaker bar and cheater pipe. Allen was fully seated and
pressure was applied without rocking the allen in the bolt head. Despite a
decent degree of aptitude one allen head did start to round out. The other four
loosened properly. When the one started to round, I quickly grabbed my spline
set and hammered the 12 pt 12mm spline into the allen head. It took the bolt
out easy as pie. I have used the same method for rounded intake manifold
bolts on the diesels (just not the 12mm on those). Cheers.

Andrew
