Thanks Svend! I just won 5 bucks from my buddy after betting him that you'd suggest I need some strong coffee. The only thing that has ever really confused me is why you guys just don't call it "increased fueling" and "decreased fueling". But at least I know what you "mean" when you're talking rich and lean. Svend, you probably know enough about jet engines. Ever heard of leaning out a mixture on a jet engine? No. Much the same as with these diesels, the fueling is increased and decreased. There's also no throttle plate on the jet engines limiting airflow. Think about it another way. Ever hear of one of these diesels burning a valve because it had an intake leak? Making a cylinder run too lean? Of course not. That's an example of why I "lean" toward the idea that the lean and rich concept applies more to gas cars. Simple enough. Thanks, Doug
