[Vwdiesel] VW's cause gray hairs ? You bet !!!

I'd hardly call this quickly.  More like lucky.  What triggered it for me
was after I got the original fuel lines back in the car, I fired it up.
Seem to run ok.  I goosed the throttle a bit and it sputtered and it
stalled.  I went to go re-fire it and it wouldn't go.  I went back under the
hood and saw that the fuel lines were full ( both supply and return ).  Then
I started to inspect around the pump.  That's when I found the wire.  The
only real casualty of all of this was my foglight.  When dad was towing my
wife home, I guess the steering wheel locked up ( key wasn't turned far
enough I guess ) he went around a corner, she didn't and it ripped my tow
hook right out of the car !  On the way out, it took the foglight with it.
