I'm not saying it is enforced, but that is what I have been told is the law 
countrywide.  There is currntly a law on the books in the state of Maine that 
anyone driving an autocar between sunset and sunrise must have someone walking 
in front of and behind the autocar carrying a lit lantern.  Probably won't get 
enforced either, but is the law.
