With only 45 HP, that little boat would have made little more than 400 lbs. thrust (cool enough for a density altitude well below sea level), so max power would have been nice (boat empty weight only 375 lbs - it was a collapsible/portable/flyable model).
Next time I do something like this, I will have to take you along, because firing up the airboat BEFORE the big hill would probably have made it possible. Surprised I never thought of that.
